I like the simple black and white motif very much... The headline font is appropriate and effective... I might have tried blocking it up with equal left and right edges. The "A" is the outlier and dealing with that tricky... perhaps making it smaller and blocking up Twelve, Years and Slave with a small A.
Watch your resolution bring it up to at least 1,600 - 2,000 pixels on the long dimension...
