Bruno Mars CD

  1. Remember that the number one cardinal sin is to skew a photograph to fit a space... these seem skewed (squashed, top and bottom... the middle one is stretched.)

You should have two panels... a front of CD with inside panel that is 9.5 X 4.75 and a back of CD (okay on the back) The red playlist on the back panel is hard to read as it goes through different values The fix is to either lighten or darken the image then choose a lighter or darker value for the type.

  2. I used big photos and used free transform to fit the space. The top picture isn't the whole picture but I used that section of the photo for the front cover. The middle picture I intended for the inside cover but it wasn't stretched either. The third picture I used the lasso to darken the area where the print is but I was worried using a lighter color wouldn't show up either.

  3. Right... the big mistake is using free transform to fit the photo into the space... a big no no. Use the Crop tool and crop the photo to maintain the original proportions. The dark wind shield and light hood on the truck is causing most of the problem. You can lay in a new layer over the image but below the type layer, make a rectangle selection where the type is, and fill it with black (or white) then blur it and lower the opacity of the layer to get just the right effect...
