Niklaus Troxler

Niklaus Troxler was born in Lucerne, Switzerland (1947). Troxler in his teen years organized and played in jazz concerts that could last for days. In the organizational aspects of the concerts Troxler began creating the advertising posters for the jazz events. The posters, modern and post-modern influenced, were metaphors of the music, usually representative of the venue, the sound, simply descriptive, colorful and geometric. Troxler has received many awards for graphic design and his work has a permanent home in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City as well as Warsaw, Paris, and Amsterdam. Currently, Troxler is an art professor in Stuggart, Germany at the State Academy of Art and Design.
